SAO LAO Project
Nathong Village, Laos
SAE LAO is a sustainable development project located in Nathong Village, near the city of Vang Vieng, Lao PDR. The project consists of a small organic farm, a farm-to-table restaurant, a community centre that provides daily English classes, and a volunteer project for international visitors.
In June 2015 as part of the Collaborative Artists Company's 'Partner & Collaboration' tour of South East Asia, CAC had the opportunity to work with the Sao Lao Project. Artistic Director David Francis Moore with the assistance of the volunteer team devised and facilitated a series of collaborative arts workshops that focused on the engagment of youths from two rivalry tribes within the Nathong Village community. The series concluded with the creation of a perminant outdoor sculpture that represented the positive outcomes that can be achived by supporting each other through a united community effort.

The Collaborative Artists Company in collaboration with Bluefire Street Festival presented a series of free, age specific drama workshops thoughout the one day festival. The festival saw over 10,000 poeple attend and the drama workshops where a huge success, bringing together people from all walks of life.
"CAC were the perfect group to collaborate with in order for us to achieve our goals and objectives. It quickly became clear that Managing Director, David Francis Moore, truly understood the fundamentals of community engagement and had the capacity in his outreach to work with all ages, from 3 - 300. He brought life to our workshops and truly engaged and captivated our audiences. I hope to have the opportunity to work with CAC again in the near future as the BlueFire Street Fest would not be the same without them."
